Letters to My Children: A Father Passes On His Values

Daniel Taylor: Life is fragile and there is no guarantee a parent is going to live to see his or her children grow up. I wanted to be sure my children had some sense of who their father is and what is important to him, so I started writing them letters.

I wrote these letters over a period of years when my children were quite young (and the last one arrived just as they were being completed) with no intention of ever publishing them. I discovered that whenever I wanted to pass on a value to one of my children, I found myself telling a story. This got me thinking about the nature of stories, which led to the next book.
