Following are some projects Daniel Taylor is currently working on.

Believing Again: Stories of Leaving and Returning to God

The social scientists have been documenting for decades the historically large exodus from the Christian faith and church, especially among the young. This is a story-based account of people who have left faith and then returned, including writers and thinkers such as Kathleen Norris, Christian Wiman, Ann Rice, and the hip-hop artist Lecrae. It reflects on their stories in search of a winsome response to the current challenges to faith. Expected publication in 2024.

The Docent of Leningrad

This novel is set during the Nazi siege of Leningrad during World War II, perhaps history’s most devastating siege ever, resulting in mass starvation and death. The main character is a docent at the great Hermitage museum, with a special love for Rembrandt’s painting Return of the Prodigal. His grandfather—an Orthodox priest—has been for decades in the Gulag. There is a mysterious link between the two characters.
